PT Pertamina may have trouble limiting fuel transactionsto stop panic buying in response to the planned increase in fuel prices due to lack of regulations for implementing the policy.
Several gas stations in Jakarta have yet to limit purchases because of confusion over how to put policy in place.
Omar, an attendant at a petrol station in Cilangkap, East Jakarta, said that the management of the station told him thatimplementation the policy beginning Monday, but there no follow-ups come yet.
"The management has not yet given orders to limit purchases," he told The Jakarta Post on Sunday.
Gas stations on Jl. Tentara coat and Jl. TB Simatupang, both in South Jakarta, had also yet to apply the policy on Sunday.

Padang, (Antara News) - A tectonic earthquake measuring 6.0 on the Richter Scale (SR) jolted the southern coastal region west of Sumatra on Sunday evening at approximately 19:17, which might also felt in Padang , The provincial capital of West Sumatra.
Contacted from Padang, Sumarsono, the head of the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency in Padang Panjang, said the epicentre of the quake was about 73 km southeast of Muko-muko (Bengkulu) at a depth of 15 km below sea level .

Militant groups are devising new strategies in an effort to deal with closer cooperation between countries in the Southeast Asian region and keep victory against terrorism out of reach, Foreign Minister Hassan Wirayuda warned on Monday (5/3/07, as quoted by Indonesia’s Trade and Investment News, published by the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy.
"While we have been enhancing our cooperation and enlarging our capabilities in the fight against terrorism, the terrorists are also making their own adjustments," Wirayuda told a ministerial security meeting in Jakarta. |

Initially launched by the UN in 1978 , Women’s Day was meant to support and press on with the fight of the feminist movement in New York at the time to gain universal suffrage (voting rights), and is aimed to raise this awareness internationally, writes Bisnis Indonesia.
Today, however, women’s demands worldwide have widened to encompass gender equality, improved health services for mothers and children, and the fight against violence on women at work and in the home. Many of these demands have been incorporated into the Millennium Development Goals (MDG’s), which were endorsed by all UN member countries, including Indonesia, to be achieved by 2015. While, some twenty years ago, UN members signed the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW), which has also been ratified by Indonesia. |
